The 2020 Kia Forte

What's New for 2020

The 2019 model year was the Forte's largest refresh to date, with tons of new features and bold aesthetic based on the sporty Stinger fastback. While 2020 doesn't bring as many major changes as its predecessor, there are still several exciting upgrades, including a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine option for the new, top-of-the-range GT trim. The S trim has been removed from the Forte lineup, and a new EX Special Edition takes the place of 2019's EX Launch Edition. It features a unique two-tone interior, premium Harman Kardon audio, a wireless smartphone charger, a sunroof, and voice command navigation.

Powertrains, Trim Levels, and Features

Five trim levels are available for the 2020 Kia Forte. FE, LXS, GT-Line, and EX get their motivation from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. The more power-hungry drivers in Williamsville and Cheektowaga will want to check out the top-shelf Forte GT and its turbocharged 1.6-liter powerplant that delivers 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque.

Trims and Features

Kicking off the lineup, the base FE trim comes generously equipped with standard features like automatic headlights, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Advanced driver-assistance technologies like lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning are also standard.

By upgrading to the higher trim levels, Buffalo shoppers are treated to numerous premium amenities like alloy wheels, LED headlights with automatic high beams, fog lights, and additional advanced safety features. The available Smart Trunk feature opens the trunk when it senses the key fob directly behind it, allowing for hands-free (and feet-free) operation. Available UVO eServices help you keep track of recommended maintenance, plan a multi-destination road trip, find your vehicle in a crowded parking lot, and more.

GT-Line and GT

GT-Line models feature the standard 2.0-liter engine and get sporty aesthetic enhancements like interior accent stitching, LED cabin lighting, a flat-bottomed race-inspired steering wheel, and a unique aggressively-styled front grille and side sills. Other feature highlights include a 320-watt Harman Kardon premium audio system, and driver aids like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring.

GT models get all the upgrades of the GT-Line, plus a lively turbocharged engine, upgraded front brakes, a high-flow active exhaust, and a choice of transmissions. The 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is controllable via paddle shifters, while the available six-speed manual transmission allows for a more traditional three-pedal experience.

With Kia DRIVEWiSE technologies, West Seneca drivers can enjoy a safer, more secure ride, thanks to advanced driver-assistance features like:
